Last week I got my ai4enterprise.ca website ready for non-human visitors with an MCP server, so AI agents could use the siteโs content as tools. This week I gave the site an agent of its own.

- The web pages, for people
- /mcp, for agents that want to use the siteโs tools
- /agent, for agents that want to hand a task to the siteโs own agent, over the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol
Why? MCP gives another agent the siteโs tools and leaves the thinking to that agent. In the video, a Microsoft Copilot Studio agent finds my agent through its Agent Card and delegates a task to it. Microsoftโs platform calling an agent on Cloudflareโs edge, with no shared code, just a protocol.

- Build to the newest spec, but probe the client. I built for A2A v1.0 with a v0.3 switch. The logs showed Copilot Studio speaks v0.3 and sends the key without the usual โBearerโ prefix. One logged request answered both questions.
- An agent is more than a protocol endpoint. Cloudflareโs Agents SDK seems to give each conversation its own Durable Object, with its own memory and task history, so follow-up messages reach the same agent.
- Safe defaults. The agent is off unless I switch it on, needs a key, and is rate-limited per caller. It runs on the Workers Free plan, so model spend has a hard daily cap. One run cost about 21 of the 10,000 free daily Neurons.
- Microsoftโs environment takes a little while to settle - donโt expect to connect to an external agent and for it to be immediately available - it took around 5 minutes plus to settle down.
